What is Direxant?

Direxant is a project for development of Open Source software, hardware and data related to mapping and GIS. The name means "one who gives directions". Direxant is starting as a spin-off with projects for Stratofox and SVWUX which have some common needs related to mapping/GIS for APRS and long-haul radio links. Stratofox also has development projects related to rocket and balloon tracking which may work well under the development environment of Direxant. Direxant will be organized as a Special Interest Group (SIG) of The South Bay Community Network, a California 501(c)3 non-profit corporation.
