Direxant - Pointing the Way

What is Direxant?
Direxant is an expert community for development of Open Source software, hardware and data related to mapping, GIS and geospatial applications. The name means "one who gives directions".

Direxant started as a spin-off with projects for Stratofox and SVWUX which have some common needs related to mapping/GIS for APRS and long-haul radio links. Stratofox also has development projects related to rocket and balloon tracking which may work well under the development environment of Direxant. Direxant is organized as a Special Interest Group (SIG) of The South Bay Community Network, a California 501(c)3 non-profit corporation.

Next Meeting
The next meeting will be Thursday, June 25, 2009 at 7:30PM at Sonoma Chicken Coop at 90 Skyport Dr. (at Technology Dr.) in San Jose, across Hwy 87 from the entrance to San Jose International Airport. (see map).

The restaurant does not provide Wi-Fi. So at least one SVWUX member will provide a Wi-Fi gateway to a cell modem.

The regular meeting time is 7:30PM on the last Thursday of each month. (Expect the November and December meetings to be substituted with other events or alternate times due to holidays.)
