Direxant - Pointing the Way

What is Direxant?
Direxant is an expert community for development of Open Source software, hardware and data related to mapping, GIS and geospatial applications. The name means "one who gives directions".

Direxant started as a spin-off with projects for Stratofox and SVWUX which have some common needs related to mapping/GIS for APRS and long-haul radio links. Stratofox also has development projects related to rocket and balloon tracking which may work well under the development environment of Direxant. Direxant is organized as a Special Interest Group (SIG) of The South Bay Community Network, a California 501(c)3 non-profit corporation.

Monthly meetings were held from March to August, 2009. Further meetings have been cancelled due to lack of attendance. The group's activities will continue online only.
